How to switch from Stemless to Sticky SMS

Switching from Stemless to Sticky SMS means exporting your contacts with their opt-in records, getting a brand-new 10DLC-approved number, and rebuilding your automations. We do it with you on a video call, file your registration and connect your POS. Migration is free, and most stores are live in 1 to 2 days.

What moves when you switch?

  • Your list and opt-in records. Every subscriber, with when and how they opted in.
  • Your segments. Rebuilt in Sticky SMS from the same rules, running on your POS data.
  • Your automations. Rebuilt with you on a video call: welcome, birthday, win-back and loyalty updates first.
  • Your order history. We bring in 6 months from your POS as standard.

Consent belongs to the customer and your store, not to a platform. When the export includes the time and source of each opt-in, it comes over with the subscriber. Where a record is missing, we help you re-permission those numbers before texting them.

What happens to your phone number?

You get a brand-new 10DLC-approved number. Your old texting number does not move, but your contacts and their opt-in records do. We get the new number approved under your business, so it is ready before your list comes over.

What are the steps?

  1. Book a call

We look at your list, your POS and your automations together.

  2. Export from your current platform

Contacts with opt-in dates and sources, plus your segment rules and automation copy.

  3. Register and connect

We file your 10DLC registration and connect your POS.

  4. Import and rebuild

We import your list and rebuild your automations with you.

  5. Send your first text

A store update to your most engaged subscribers first, then the rest.

Stemless says integration availability is confirmed during onboarding [1]. When you leave, ask for an export of your contacts with their opt-in dates and sources, which it says it logs [2].

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to switch from Stemless?

Most stores are live in 1 to 2 days, including registration, the POS connection and the first automations.

Do I lose my subscribers when I switch?

No. We import your list with its opt-in records. Numbers without a record are re-permissioned before they are texted.

Is migration free?

Yes. We move your list, keep your opt-ins and rebuild your automations with you on a video call, at no charge.

Can I keep my texting number?

No. You get a brand-new 10DLC-approved number, registered under your business. Your contacts and their opt-in records still move with you.

Should I cancel my current platform first?

No. Check your renewal date and notice period, then time the switch so the new program is live before the old one ends.
