Dispensary customer segment · Engagement
Dispensary text marketing: your most engaged SMS list (30 days)
When a text has to land, send it here
The smallest and most responsive text audience you have. Every credit spent here does more work than it does anywhere else.
What is the SMS Engaged (Last 30 Days) segment?
Everyone here is among your most engaged text subscribers over the last 30 days. Sticky Cards has not published the rule behind it yet, so this page does not state one.
This is the sharp end of your SMS list. These people read your texts recently and did something about it, which makes them the most dependable audience in your account.
Because text costs credits, the narrow window is not a limitation here, it is the point. Sending to 300 people who respond beats sending to 3,000 who mostly do not, and it costs a tenth as much. This is the list to reach for when a send has to work.

This row will be the smallest of the four SMS windows and should be. Compare it against SMS Opted-In: the ratio between them tells you what share of your permitted text list is actually awake, and it is a more useful number than either on its own.
What should a dispensary send to your most responsive text list?
The send that has to workSMS
A launch, a limited drop, an event with a date. When the outcome matters more than the reach, this is the list, and the credit cost is low because the list is small.
The same-day fillSMS
A quiet afternoon you want to fix today. Nobody else in your account responds fast enough for a same-day text to be worth the credits.
The test audienceSMS
Try a new offer here first. If it does not move the most responsive list you have, widening the audience will not rescue it, and you will have found that out cheaply.
The high-stakes win-backSMS
Cross with your top spenders. A valuable customer who still reads your texts is the most recoverable person in your account.
Ideas to try
The offer pre-test
Before any large text campaign, send it to this segment first. A day later you know whether the offer works. If it does not land here, the problem is the offer and no amount of extra reach will fix it.
Sample text
Something new in today and you are hearing first. Show your card at the counter. Reply STOP to end.
The same-day fill
When a day is running quiet, this is the only list where a text sent at 2pm reliably changes the afternoon. Keep it for the days that need it.
Sample text
Quiet in here this afternoon and we are open until nine. Worth a trip if you are nearby. Reply STOP to end.
The awake ratio
Not a send. Track this segment against SMS Opted-In monthly. That ratio is the health of your text programme, and it falls long before anyone opts out.

Related segments to pair it with
- SMS Engaged (Last 60 Days)The next rung out. Step to it when this list is too small to carry the campaign, and expect the response rate to fall as the reach rises.
- SMS Opted-InThe full permitted list. The ratio between that and this is the clearest read you have on whether your text programme is healthy.
- Last purchase 0-7 daysDon’t send toSet this as your exclusion on promotional texts. This list responds precisely because you have not worn it out, and texting someone three days after they paid you is how that starts.
What to measure
Revenue per credit spent, not per recipient. That is the comparison that shows why a small sharp list beats a large one, and it is the number that will stop you widening out of habit. Watch the size of this segment month over month as your early warning: a shrinking engaged list means you are over-sending, and it shows up here before it shows up as opt-outs.
Questions we get
How is SMS engagement measured?
That rule is not defined in the product yet, so this page does not state one. Everything below is about what to do with the list, which holds whatever the rule turns out to be.
Is this list too small to be useful?
Judge it on revenue per credit rather than on reach. A campaign to a few hundred responsive people often earns more than the same campaign to thousands, and costs a fraction as much to send.
When should I widen to a longer window?
When the campaign needs the volume, such as an event that needs bodies. For anything where the response matters more than the reach, stay here.
