How a text automation is built in Playmaker

In Playmaker, an automation starts with a trigger, such as an order placed or a customer added to a lapsed segment. You add a wait, check who it should reach, then the text. Once it is on, it runs by itself for every customer who meets the trigger.

How is a win-back automation built?

  1. Pick the trigger

Added to lapsed: a customer has not visited in your set number of days.

  2. Add a wait

Give them a day, so the text does not land the moment they lapse.

  3. Check the segment

Only customers who are opted in to texts continue.

  4. Write the text

Store name first, a branded link, a STOP line, the offer on your age-gated page.

  5. Turn it on

It runs for every customer who lapses from now on.

Which automations do we build with you?

We build the fundamental automations with you on a video call: welcome, birthday, win-back and loyalty updates. Then you use Playmaker to build as many more as you want.

Frequently asked questions

What can start an automation?

Triggers from your POS and your list, such as an order placed, a birthday or a customer added to a lapsed segment.

Do I have to build automations myself?

No. We build the fundamental ones with you, and you can add more in Playmaker whenever you want.

Can an automation send email too?

Yes. An automation can send text, MMS or email from the same customer record.

Who receives automated texts?

Only customers who have opted in to texts.

Does a win-back stop when the customer buys?

Yes. Sequences such as win-back and abandoned cart end as soon as the customer makes a purchase.
