How to grow a dispensary text list
Grow a dispensary text list where shoppers already are: a QR code at the counter that opens a text with your keyword, the same keyword on signs, receipts and social posts, sign-up at events, and a box at online checkout. Every route needs clear consent wording and a confirmation text, and the offer for joining lives on your age-gated page.

What is the fastest way to grow a list?
Text Club: a counter sign with a QR code that opens a text with your keyword ready to send. Joining takes one tap on Send, and the confirmation text arrives right after. Ask budtenders to point to the sign at checkout.
Where else should the keyword appear?
- The door, the counter and pickup shelves.
- Receipts, printed and emailed.
- Your social profiles and website.
- Events, with a sign at the table.
How do you add text sign-up to online checkout?
A separate, unchecked box that says who will text, what, and how to stop. CTIA expects express written consent for marketing texts, and in Canada a pre-checked box does not count as express consent.
What should the confirmation text say?
Kendall's
Kendall's: you are in. Your welcome offer is at stky.ca/kendalls. Msg frequency varies, msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
What should you measure?
- New subscribers per week by source.
- Share of checkouts that join, by store.
- Opt-outs in the first week.
Make a sign with the free Text Club sign generator, and follow the keyword and QR playbook.

How do dispensaries get text subscribers?
Mostly at the counter: a QR code and keyword, mentioned by staff, plus receipts, social profiles, events and online checkout.
Can I offer something for joining?
In the US, yes, with the offer on your age-gated page. In Canada, a free product for joining is a likely inducement, so promise store news instead.
Can the checkout box be pre-checked?
No. Text consent should be a separate, unchecked choice, and in Canada a pre-checked box does not count.
What keyword should I use?
Four or five letters that are easy to say, with no product words.
