Set up a barcode scanner for Cova
What to buy, and how to put it in the mode Cova needs to read a Sticky card.

The scanner has to be wired directly into the tablet and set to HID mode. Bluetooth and wireless scanners do not read a Sticky card into Cova.
Buy a standard 2D barcode scanner with a wired connection, one per till. Inexpensive models sold on Amazon work well, and so do Zebra scanners.
Pick a hands-free desktop model if your counter is busy. The customer holds their phone under it and your staff keep both hands on the order.
Plug the scanner into the tablet. The camera on the tablet is not used for this.
Put the scanner into HID mode. Most ship in keyboard wedge mode and need one configuration barcode from the manual scanned once. The steps vary by model.
Test it. Open Cova, tap "Attach Customer", tap into the "Last Name" field and scan a Sticky card. The card number should fill the field.
